Rural Schools of Nebraska: Photographs by Charles Guildner

Photographer Charles Guildner visited over 40 one room schoolhouses during a 10-year span to memorialize an education system that is rapidly dwindling. Entitled Rural Schools of Nebraska, the series is exhibited in conjunction with the “School Consolidation in the Great Plains Symposium” taking place April 5 and 6, 2013, at the University of Nebraska Kearney.

Opening Monday, May 6, Every Church in Nebraska City presents an exhibition of large format black and white photographs by Arlington, VA based photographer Andrew Zimmermann at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (KHN).
While previously in residence at the KHN Center, Zimmermann used his large-format camera to document the interior and exterior of each of the 23 churches with a Nebraska City address. He returns to Nebraska City this spring to share the finished and framed prints in this special exhibition at the KHN Center....
