Big John Dickerson & Blue Chamber
Described as a teenager in a 67 year-old body
Airtime Friday, Oct. 19 at 11 p.m. on NETV and Saturday, Sept. Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. on NETV2

Big John Dickerson and Blue Chamber Big John Dickerson, born in Ohio, started out his musical career at age eleven by singing on the streets.

He moved to Detroit in the late 1950's where he was exposed to the music of The Temptations, B.B. King, Bobby Bland and Junior Parker. It was here that he performed as a jazz drummer for many years. Big John Dickerson is often described as a teenager in a 67 year-old body, but this is only a part of his engaging stage personality. It is this personality that has won over audiences for many years.

Blue Chamber is composed of a group of local "all star" musicians. Paul Mayasich, plays scorching lead and slide guitar. The band's new rhythm section includes Art Haynes on bass and Mike Wirtz on drums. Andy Bailey is joined on keyboards by the horn section led by Joe DeRasmi on trumpet, Steve Pikal on trombone and Brian Simonds on saxophone. Most of these musicians have been performing for years backing some of the great blues legends. Blue Chamber released their self titled CD on Cannonball Records and began a non-stop touring schedule that has included several trips to Europe. In 1999 they released their outstanding follow up CD, "Arms Of The Blues," also on Cannonball.
