Ann Hampton CallawayAnn Hampton Callaway
One of the most widely acclaimed singer/songwriters today

- Ann was born and raised in Chicago. Her father is John Callaway, a former CBS News correspondent and host of the PBS show, "Chicago Tonight." Her mother Shirley Callaway, is a prominent Broadway vocal coach. Ann resides in New York and is one of the most widely acclaimed singer/songwriters working in pop/jazz today.

She recently starred in the new hit Broadway musical "SWING!" Ann has received many honors and awards. She has just received a TONY AWARD nomination for "BEST FEATURED ACTRESS IN MUSICAL" and won the 2000 THEATRE WORLD AWARD for "OUTSTANDING BROADWAY DEBUT."

She has received national attention from television audiences for her song "The Nanny Named Fran" which she wrote and performs for the CBS television comedy hit "THE NANNY". Another of Ann's compositions, "AT THE SAME TIME" was performed by Barbara Streisand for President Clinton in Los Angeles and was recorded for Streisand's CD, "Higher Ground" which debuted nationally at #1.

Ann's latest CD "EASY LIVING" on Sindrome-After 9 Records, was released in January 2000 and was #12 on the Gavin Jazz charts and features pianists Kenny Barron, Benny Green and Bill Charlap with guest artists Wynton Marsalis and Nelson Rangel.

Ann appeared as special guest artist in a nationally televised performance with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops and also with them at Tanglewood and last month at Carnegie Hall. Ann performed in New York with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall in the American Popular Standard series and was guest artist at Carnegie Hall with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops.

Her performances have been heard on numerous national and international television shows such as The Today Show, CNN, The Charlie Rose Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC News, PBS and BBC. She has performed for President Clinton in Washington D.C. and was the invited guest performer for former President Gorbachev's Youth Peace Summit in Moscow. Ann performed with her sister Liz Callaway their original musical "SIBLING REVELRY" at London's Donmar Warehouse to wide critical acclaim.
