Welcome to the Art Treasures
Of Nebraska
Nebraska is brimming with great art, but access to them is
a challenge in a state that stretches across 500 miles – and
two time zones. Now, they are as close as a “click” away.
Our state’s premier art museums – Sheldon Memorial
Art Gallery at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Joslyn
Art Museum in Omaha, and the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA)
at the University of Nebraska in Kearney – have teamed
up with Nebraska Educational Telecommunications to bring the
Art Treasures of Nebraska directly to you at home, in school,
or in the office.
This interactive gateway will help you explore thought-provoking
paintings and sculpture from Nebraska’s finest art museums.
Enter one of the museum portals above to view a display of
each of the sixteen pieces. Each section contains insights
about the artwork and commentary about the artist who created
it. You can screen video segments on the artwork produced by
NET Television or listen to a colorful radio story about each
museum’s collection, as featured on NET Radio, the Nebraska
Public Radio Network.
Get set to explore the finest Art Treasures of Nebraska!
