Song
writer, performer and Professor of Philosophy at Nebraska Wesleyan
University, John Walker sings a melancholy homage to the town of
Valparaiso -- Valley of Paradise. John Walker talks about the
inspiration for his song Valparaiso: "Well, I was thinking
of some good times that some friends of mine and I had traveling
from Lincoln to Valparaiso when pool was illegal. You know, eight
ball pool in Lincoln? You couldn't go into a bar and shoot pool
in the same place. So we would drive out there and shoot pool and
drink cheap brandy and have some really good times. But they ended.
It is sort of a wistful and melancholy song."
