Nebraskans support the President's policy in Iraq in higher numbers than the rest of the nation. Our views on the merits of international free trade show we are about evenly split. Those are just a couple of key findings in a poll done in central Nebraska and in eight other communities across America. NETV was chosen to be part of a national project called "By the People" and highlights of discussions held nationwide aired on PBS. The University of Nebraska at Kearney hosted the discussion. A group of Nebraskans were recruited to take part in a day-long discussion of how America is handling responsibilities on security and economic issues around the world. It was a rare chance for these citizens to share their opinions, listen to their neighbors thoughts and see, through a separate set of opinion polls, how their views compare with the rest of the state and the country. "Statewide's" Bill Kelly shares some highlights.
