CUBA TODAY: NEBRASKA CONNECTIONS
Part of the PBS "By the People" project
|
[Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 26, March 26 and May 16, 2003] -
After years in the shadows, Cuba is Back. It’s back as a foreign policy issue...back as a business story...back as a source of fascination for Americans. In part that is due to Cuba’s effort to create a kinder image for its socialist regime. But much of America – and Nebraska - appears ready to do business with Fidel Castro. "Statewide’s" Bill Kelly traveled Havana, as part of a reporting project in cooperation with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism. It’s also part of a larger PBS project called "By the People," examining how foreign policy can effect average Americans.
