 PERSPECTIVE:  PAYING AT THE PUMP

[May 28, 2004] – As American troops continue their presence in Iraq, this weekend, Nebraskans remember those who have served in past military conflicts. Memorial Day weekend also marks the beginning of summer. That's when travelers hit the roads for vacations or other getaways.

But for those of us venturing out, the summer of 2004 may be remembered as the summer of shock. Gas prices have steadily increased over the last couple months to record highs. That's something that is affecting not just travelers, but businesses, government and many others.

Statewide's Perry Stoner has more on what's driving the price of gas and the impact on everyone's wallet, when you are paying at the pump.
