Wood

Wood is an organic material made from plants that has a complex
structure. It is anisotropic in nature. This means that it responds
differently in different directions to the same stimulus. For example,
when wood swells in response to higher relative humidity, it swells

a different amount across the grain than with the grain. This is significant because this difference in response leads to cracking, splitting, and warping.

Wood is used in many ways and with a variety of methods. Some objects that include wood elements are buildings, furniture, toys, tools, paper, and vehicles.
