February 13, 2013
Sen. Galen Hadley of Kearney has been at the center of the storm recently. Hadley's chairman of the Nebraska Legislature's Revenue Committee, which held hearings last week on Gov. Dave Heineman's tax proposals. Those proposals would abolish or reduce the state's corporate and personal income taxes, by ending many sales tax exemptions for manufacturers, farmers and others. In this week's Capitol Conversation, NET News' Fred Knapp asks Hadley about alternative ideas, like expanding the sales tax on services, and about where the discussion goes from here.
