NET News Statewide: Perspective - Cyber Security, 1/15/03

Computers linked to the internet may be vulnerable to attack. A program at the University of Nebraska's Peter Kiewit Institute trains students in cybersecurity methods, and researches new ways to keep computers safe. It's called the Nebraska University Consortium for Information Assurance, or NUCIA. It works with federal agencies important to national security as well as businesses that need to protect important data. Statewide's Brad Penner learned more about the program, and the need for more cybersecurity specialists.
