On the October 4th program, new host Genevieve Randall previews concert series across the state, some events at The Ross in Lincoln, and more. Dean Haist talks about the Nebraska Brass Fall Tour that plays dates in Springfield, Papillion, Omaha, and Lincoln. Danny Ladely from the Ross Media Arts Center in Lincoln talks about the new season of The Met starting October 5th with Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin,” The Alloy Orchestra performing with the silent film “He Who Gets Slapped” on October 4th and the new films “Enough Said” and “Drug War” also opening on October 4th. The Grand Island Concert Series features pianist Charlie Albright on October 10th. We’ll hear a performance by Albright of Chopin’s “Etude in G-sharp minor, Op. 25, No. 6.” Trumpet player Darryl White and his trio lead off the new season of First Friday Jazz concerts at First Lutheran Church in Lincoln on October 4. We’ll get a preview of this concert and this series. Tom Ineck previews the entire Nebraska Jazz Orchestra season.
Also, Vonni Sparks and Bob Hinrichs talk about Sparks new exhibit of paintings at The Outlook Project, hosted by Fuse Coworking. And, TADA Productions and Lincoln Choral Artists put on “South Pacific,” with shows October 11th and 13th at O’Donnell Auditorum on the Nebraska Wesleyan campus. We’ll hear about this collaboration from Bill Wyman from Lincoln Choral Artists and Dave Clause, who plays Emile.
