The Tuesday Cutline...a Winner!
For this week's contest, we went to the final frontier. Before we announce our the winner, here's the official caption to the photo taken by Oli Scarff for Getty Images:
"Members of the public dressed in Star Trek character costumes travel by the DLR to attend the 'Destination Star Trek London' convention at the ExCeL center on Oct. 19, 2012, in London. The three-day convention, which opened to the general public today, will be attended by all fives actors who played captains throughout the 46-year-old series."
The photo generated several clever captions full of fashion faux pas puns and Trekkie lingo. But we were won over by the cutline that beamed the Star Trek crew down to New York. Congrats, G. Kamana Hunter! You'll be receiving a NewsHour mug for your winning caption:
"I said teleport me to Estonia's Queen....not Astoria, Queens! Scotty's hearing is not what it used to be."
Thanks for playing along. We'll have a new contest next week. Until then, live long and prosper.
