Happy birthday Malia Obama

President Obama will mark the nation’s birthday tonight with a celebration on the White House South Lawn, but there is another important birthday penned-in for this date on the White House calendar. Malia Obama turns 16 today. Just 10 years old when her family first arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Malia has grown up in and out of the spotlight in the halls of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

So far, Malia does not appear to have inherited her father’s taste for politics. Instead, The Wrap reported last month that Malia was working in Los Angeles as a production assistant for an upcoming CBS series featuring Halle Berry. In six years in the White House, the Obamas have been extremely guarded about Malia and Sasha’s privacy–neither has ever done a public interview.

There has been no word from the first family on how Malia will be celebrating her birthday, but a USO concert featuring Pitbull might be a good place to start.
