About this event
Description:
Dr. William McMullen, oboe, and Catherine Herbener, piano, will be presenting a recital of four works for oboe and piano by British composers from the Baroque era to the modern time. Works will be by Thomas Vincent (an oboist active in London at the time of Handel), York Bowen (a "romantic" pianist of the mid twentieth century), Andrew Downes (a composer in Birmingham writing about his experiences in eastern India) and Malcolm Arnold (one of the wittiest of modern British composers for wind music). This is a continuation of William McMullen's ongoing research into British music for the oboe. Additional Public Info: Free and open to the public.
