Are You Man Enough?
Videotaped Rebroadcasts: Sunday,
Feb. 8, at 11 p.m. (CT) and Saturday,
Feb. 14, at 10 p.m. (CT) on NETV2
What is a man? How do you define masculinity? How does society influence these perceptions and what can we do to change negative cultural influences that contribute to domestic or gender violence?
Tune in to “Nebraska Connects: Are You Man Enough?,”
a live, hour-long call-in on Thursday, January
29, at 7 p.m. CT (6 MT) on NETV. With a
combination of discussion-starter videos,
a panel of young people and adults, and
calls from viewers, this new program will
explore what it means to be a man, the attitudes
and influences that contribute to abusive
behavior and violence in the dating/relationships
between young people (16-24) and what can
be done to change them.

NPRN: Prior to the broadcast, the Nebraska Public Radio Network (NPRN) will air a series of four reports on how domestic violence affects boys and young men, how they act out what they’ve learned, the services available to help them recover, and efforts to keep them from becoming the next generation of abusers.
NETV’s community partners are the Nebraska Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition and the Family Violence Council. After the broadcast, NETV will provide videotapes (containing
the discussion starter segments) along with instructional
guides to the state's 18 Educational Service Units serving all school districts,
as well as to the program partners and their statewide affiliates.
