Nebraska Connects: Peacekeeping

Can and should the United States serve as the world’s peacekeeper? And how successful have current and past efforts been? "Nebraska Connects: Peacekeeping" will look at these issues through the perspective of Nebraskans. It will use the current NATO peacekeeping mission in Bosnia as a starting point, talking about the mission and its effectiveness. The show will also look at peacekeeping needs in countries like Iraq and Liberia, addressing broader questions about the role of the U.S. military in peacekeeping and America’s role in the world community. "Statewide" reporter Mike Tobias recently traveled to Bosnia to report on Nebraska soldiers involved in peacekeeping in that country. For more information on the program, transcripts and resources, visit the "Statewide" web site. CLICK HERE for more on peacekeeping and Nebraska soldiers who were part of the mission in Bosnia.
